Thanks Gary! Yup, I know that book... It is one of the firsts in my "Bicycle Bibliography" --- I should really own that book.

Bicycle Bibliography

I'm definitely going to be doing some legal research next week, and just posted quite a long reading list in This week in BIKES over at:

The Bicycle Librarian.

There is so much useful stuff out there, we just gotta collect it and then collaborate with implementing the ideas here in Los Angeles.

The book Bicycling and The Law by Bob Mionske if you have not read it yet is an invaluable resource and highly detailed while explained in plain English. I'm almost done reading it, and I highly recommend it. It's given me a much better understanding of how vehicle laws came into being, what has been accomplished by cyclists and how far we have to go toward equal treatment under the law. Even when law books are in our favor, cyclists are routinely treated unfairly by nearly ever level of the justice system and the book is full of practical advice to legally protect your self, as well as tips for avoiding conflicts and accidents in the first place.
